YFM Hunts For ‘The One’

As a brand noted for nurturing young talents in the music and entertainment industry, YFM, Ghana’s number one urban radio station, is once again setting the pace with another ground-breaking and game-changing reality show which seeks to identify and groom young talents who are passionate about radio presentation.

Dubbed ‘The One’, this innovative radio reality show is focused on grooming a young individual who is creative, charismatic, ambitious, funny and most importantly is extremely passionate about being a radio presenter. ‘The One’ is a game changer coming from the stables of the most listened to youth radio station in Ghana.

During the launch of this new reality show at the Lancaster University, East Legon, Nana Kwame Osei-Sarpong, the Regional Manager of YFM Ghana, said, “we want to bring to reality the dreams of many young people who are talented and want to be behind the console but do not have the opportunity to actualise their dreams. We also want to use this platform to create the next great presenter in Ghana.’’ He added that the public should just imagine ‘The One’ show to be the combination of idols, survivor and apprentice reality shows.”

He added that YFM re-defined urban radio eight (8) years ago which led to massive revolution in the industry and therefore wants to still be the leader in radio entertainment in Ghana. “YFM is looking at the future and is currently developing an affordable way of entertainment for the Ghanaian youth,” he said.
According to the Programmes Manager of YFM, Eddy Blay Jr., registration is opened from now till the end of September on www.Yfmghana.com and www.etvghana.com followed by auditions in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi in October. He said the winner of the three-month long show which will be shown on e.TV Ghana stands the chance of hosting a show on YFM Ghana and also get other mouth-watering prizes from sponsors.

Eddy Blay urged all ambitious young people who fit the criteria to emerge as ‘The One’ to register and be part of this exciting new project.
