Vodafone Ghana Music Award winner Jay Ghartey has disclosed that he is not ready to participate in politics because he wants to be a peace maker. The “My Lady” hit maker shared that he is not ready to jeopardize his music career with politics. Shatta Wale has reacted to Charterhouse organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, in regards to apology they are requesting  from him.  Shatta wale took to social media platform "Facebook" after Charterhouse organised a press conference at the world Trade Center on Tuesday, February 23rd informing the press that he is out of this year’s awards due to his inability to apologise to them for insults he hurled at them last year Shatta Wale wrote this on his Facebook page; WHY SHOULD I ALWAYS I APOLOGIZE FOR THE MONSTER YOU HAVE MADE ME BECOME WHEN NO ONE HAS EVER APOLOGIZED FOR MAKING ME THIS WAY. After what seemed like an eternity in the decision-making on Shatta Wale’s fate with regards to attaining a nod at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the organizers – Charterhouse via the Board of the scheme has finally spoken! Rapper Wisa of “Ekikime” fame is facing charges at An Accra Circuit Court for showing his manhood on stage whiles performing at “Decemba 2 Rememba”, a show organized by an Accra based Citi FM on December 24th, 2015. Performing one of his songs “Slow Motion”, the rapper stripped whiles dancing behind a voluptuous female dancer. He pulled out his manhood and rubbed it behind the lady. Radio presenter and musician Fiifi selah has been nominated for the 2016 edition of Ghana DJs awards. Fiifi selah was mention as part of the nominees for Best Reggae/Dancehall DJ at the nominees jam on friday (Feb. 19th) at MJ Grand Hotel.  “Selenxy Faya” as he is known by his listeners won in the same category last year, making him the reigning champion. In this year’s Ghana DJs awards Fiifi selah will be contending with DJ Maimi, Conscious Queen, King Lagazee, Bongo I, Empress Lomo, Ras Bonti, Rudebwoy and DJ Nature 1 who are also big names on radio. Award winning scratch DJ, Masta Jay has expressed disappointments in Ghana DJ awards for its level of credibility. In a conversation with DJ Masta Jay, he stated that though he has not done much in the previous years as a scratch DJ, he has consistently and actively been on radio DJing and if for nothing at all he at least expects a nomination in the Best Radio DJ of the year category, but unfortunately this didn’t happen.  “ In the period that they use to nominate the DJs I have been active in other part of DJing, like I said with the scratch I haven’t seen myself much into it last year and this year but in other categories, I have been on radio for one year now and if they want to nominate me without my concern they could place me but then why didn’t they nominate me for Best Radio DJ or any other slot? But then they pin point and just put people there just to fill up their seats .”

Bull Dog has stated that so far as he concerned Ghanaian artistes are better than any foreign act. In a heated discussion on Ampluzz , Lawrence Asiamah Hanson popularly known as Bull Dog argued that there is no need to import foreign acts to perform in Ghana because the local acts are capable of entertaining their fans and even if there is a need to import foreign musicians for gigs, it should be minimized. Bull Dog’s argument was in line with the Ghanaian Rasta community who are protesting against the coming of Jamaican artiste Alkaline to perform on the Pulse concert. He further argued that Shatta Wale, Samini, Stonebwoy and all the Ghanaian musicians who are billed for the event are way better than the Jamaican acts on the show.
