DStv Ghana Introduces Newly Launched SuperSport Channels On DStv Compact To Media

On Tuesday 24th February 2016, MultiChoice launched two new SuperSport channels, SS11 (DStv Channel 211) & SS12 (DStv Channel 212) on its Compact bouquet to bring its subscribers live EPL, La Liga league matches and the Euro 2016 once it begins in June.

Subsequently, DStv Ghana held a media engagement event on the 25th of February; with some sports journalists to brief them on the Value add campaign. The briefing was chaired by Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, the General Manager of MultiChoice Ghana who stated that said the matches of these leagues and Euro 2016 will be available to DStv Compact subscribers in High Definition, at no extra cost. 

The DStv Compact's monthly subscription rates, stays at the current rate of GHS160 He continued that this was a as part of measures to mitigate financial difficulties faced by consumers while providing quality affordable entertainment.


“We are giving something back to our loyal subscribers at no extra cost - nonstop access to the best football in the world. This has been done in direct response to market conditions and after listening to subscriber feedback as part of our on-going strategy to deliver the best video entertainment to our customers at a price they can afford. This move has one objective – to delight subscribers by constantly offering them the best value”.

Earlier this month, Multichoice Ghana launched its biggest DStv decoder price slash yet. New customers can also buy the much talked about DStv Explora Decoder for GHC499 only discounted from GHC999 to record, pause and rewind live TV and well as access highlights on the Explora Catch Up service and Box Office Movie Rental. 

Alternatively, subscribers can buy a fully installed Zapper decoder for GHc299 discounted from GHc399 and get an additional 2 months subscription to the Access Bouquet with an option to upgrade their bouquet to the Compact, when desired. 

Existing customers can also get an extra view decoder with either the discounted Ghc499 Explora decoder (from GHC999) or add on an extra Zapper decoder for your Extra view, for just GHc149 discounted from GHC199.

MultiChoice’s revamped DStv Compact bouquet  includes over 95 world class channels at a monthly subscription of GHS160. Some of the new channels include, AfricaMagic Urban, BBC Brit, CBeebies, Eva, M-City and Zee World, to name a few.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car. Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
