Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson better known as BullDog has suggested selfishness as the main reason no Ghanaian artiste has headlined a concert at The 02 Arena. Ghana To Host 8th DStv Eutelsat Star Awards

The 8th edition of the DStv Eutelsat Star Awards will hold in Accra, Ghana on 13 February. According to a statement issued by MultiChoice, it is the second time Ghana will be hosting the award since the competition began in 2011. Ghana was also the first country to produce an overall poster winner during the inaugural DStv Eutelsat Star Awards. The International Committee of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, joins the African and global music community to mourn the death of African music legend Dr. Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi, who died on Wednesday, January 23, 2018, aged 66 in Harare, Zimbabwe. CBG Well Capitalized, And Has Good Asset - BOG

Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Elsie Awadzi, has disclosed that Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Limited is very well capitalized and has good asset base for its operations. Speaking on the Super Morning Show on Joy 99.7 FM on Tuesday, Madam Awadzi said the bank is more resilient now than it was in the initial stages. The Deputy Governor noted that the managers of Consolidated CBG initially had to manage liquidity ahead of the release of cash from the bond issued in its name and that it why it appeared as though the bank had liquidity challenges. She further revealed that the Consolidated Bank detected some accounting anomalies between the erstwhile banks which also caused some delay in customers receiving their funds.

UK and US- based International Gospel Act, Dr. Sonnie Badu has released a video to one of his hit singles “I Hail You”. The video released earlier this year was directed by the award-winning producer who is also the brain behind the “Wonder God’ video, Uvi Orugun.  The video is a depiction of the true story of a friend of Dr. Badu who is grateful to his wife for standing by hi through trying times. The video revolves around a concept of the International Gospel Act being arrested and standing trial. At the end of the video, Sonnie Badu is acquitted and discharged of his criminal charges. Ghanaian Actress and radio/TV presenter Regina Van Helvert’s movie dubbed “jungle justice” has won “best short movie” at the just ended Ghana Movie Awards. The movie was launched before it’s release on 24th August 2018 at Alisa Hotel, Accra. It was a campaign against public extrajudicial killings in Sub-Saharan Africa, most notably Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon, where an alleged criminal is humiliated, beaten or summarily executed by a crowd or vigilantes. The tv presenter/actress bemoans that the project is an educative way of informing the youth of the illegality of taking another’s life.

3MUSIC AWARDS MOVES TO MULTIMEDIA GROUP

Organizers of the annual 3Music Awards today announced a new strategic partnership with media group, Multimedia Group Limited (MGL). Joy FM and Joy Prime all belonging to the stable, will lead coverage for the prestigious scheme, which is in its second year. The MGL partnership replaces that of TV3 (Media General), organizers say, adding that the latter held media rights for the maiden edition, and not as franchise holders. Launched in March, 2018, it is an offshoot of the successful 3Music television brand. This year’s event will be held on March 23 at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair, with an announcement of nominees preceding on January 27. Excitement is already building for what promises to be an improved second edition in March; the organizers have made some changes including the institution of special voting mechanics for the Public (60%) and Academy (40%).
