AUC-AFRIMA TO HOLD AFRIMA 3.0 STAKEHOLDERS'CONFERENCE IN ADDIS ABABA

In its drive to build capacity for knowledge sharing among Africans and effectively communicate the calendar OF AFRIMA 3.0, The African Union Commission, AUC, and the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA hold joint Stakeholders/Media Conference at the Conference Room 2, African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Friday, June 17, 2016.

The AUC-AFRIMA joint conference, Addis Ababa which is themed: ""Using Music, Culture and Entertainment as tools for a new Africa." is slated for 1400hr on Friday June 17, 2016 on the last day of the African Union 2nd Ordinary Session of the Specialized Technical Committee of experts and ministers on Youth, Culture and Sports (STC-YCS2) which holds from June 13-17, 2016.

The AUC-AFRIMA joint stakeholders/media conference is specifically to share this year's calendar and programs of the annual continental awards, All Africa Music Awards tagged "AFRIMA 3.0" with focus on July 30, 2016 deadline for this year's entry submission which opened on May 30. The entry submission is officially open for entries from Artistes, Songwriters, Music/Entertainment Journalists, Video Directors, Music Producers, and DJs across the continent and Diaspora.


The conference will also touch on the adjudication process, nominees' announcement and public voting as part of 2016 calendar. The Discussing how to engage the shared African values and the spirit of Pan-Africanism for greater collaborations in culture and music for sustainable development in line with the AU cultural agenda for peace building, integration, democracy, economic advancement and youth social development.

The conference will bring together music professionals, creative/cultural industry experts and practitioners; award winning recording artistes, government officials, business and media practitioners in Ethiopia and neighbouring countries.

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, is a music and cultural initiative developed to celebrate, reward and showcase the rich musical heritage of Africa, stimulate conversations among Africans and between Africa and the rest of the globe about the great potentials and values of the African culture and artistic legacy for the purpose of creating jobs, reducing poverty, calling attention of world leaders to Africa and promoting the positive image of Africa to the world. The 2016 edition will hold in November 4-6.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car.
