Abeiku Santana Unveiled As Ambassador For 2016 Ada Asafotufiami Festival

Ghana’s biggest festival christened Asafotufiami, held annually in Ada, in the Greater Accra Region have finally unveiled their ambassador for this year’s festival.

The Ada Traditional Council in conjunction with Shatta Movement Family (SMF) has come together to unveil Dr. Gilbert Abeiku Santana as an ambassador for this year festive occasion to be held in the month of August in Ada.

The unveiling of the 2016 ambassador of the festival which took place at the Afrikiko restaurant in Accra yesterday was well represented by industry players.

Addressing the press, Queen mother of Ohuewem Clan, Naana Akumtu Bisansu, asked all Ghanaian citizens to come in their numbers to witness rich culture in August 2016 at the Ada Asafotufiami.

She outlined all the exciting activities that are slated to happen at this year’s Asafotufiami festival which is expected to last for 8 days.


“I call on all who are far and near to come and witness our indigenous culture in Ada,” she said.For her part, the newly named ambassador for the festival, Abeiku Santana, thanked the event planners, Queen Mothers and the people of Ada for choosing him as ambassador.

According to him, this year festival will be the most talked about the festival in Ghana and urged the media to support this year Ada festival.

He asked every individual to come together and promote their Culture not only that but where ever they find themselves they should promote Ghana to the map. Asked what new is he bringing on board as Ghana Tourism Ambassador and Asafotufiami ambassador, he said: “let’s make noise as media persons, let’s talk about our wealthy culture, I will also use my medium as presenter of Accra-based Okay FM to preach about the Ada Asafotufiami festival”.


“This year’s festival will be one of a kind and being an ambassador I will invite all Embassy’s in the country to bring their people to witness Ghana’s biggest culture,” he stressed.

Abeiku Santana further assured safety security at this year’s festival and also plead Chiefs to give an opportunity for up and coming youth to exhibit their talents on the grand durbar not only their culture but also their musical talent, adding: “who knows they can be the next Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale et al”.
