VGMA Experience Concert Live On DStv & GOtv

All is set for the highly anticipated Vodafone Ghana Music Awards eXperience concert scheduled for Saturday 11th may at the Black Star Square in Accra.

The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which is in its twentieth year promises loads of surprises this year. One of such activities is the VGMA eXperience Concert featuring Shatta Wale, Samini and Stone Bwoy to mention but a few on Saturday 11th May; this chochella styled concert will be aired live exclusively on DStv and GOtv across Africa on the Ghana events channel.

Cecil Sunkwa Mills, Managing Director, MultiChoice Ghana confirming this broadcast explained “this partnership with the VGMA enters its third year and we are taking it a notch higher.” He adds “the biggest night in music in Ghana will be live in 48 countries across the continent. 

Over 14 millions of homes in Africa will join in the excitement as we reward deserving Ghana musician for their outstanding works when the Ghana Events channel goes live at 9pm on DStv and GOtv.”

He explains “Entertainment is a powerful way to tell stories and brings people together around shared passions. Our mission is to deliver value to our customers by making great entertainment more accessible. Leveraging on our investments in cutting-edge technology we deliver the shows that people love into their hands and their living rooms via DStv and GOtv.”

The VGMA scheme has over the last two decades rewarded the works of Ghanaian and other musicians from across the continent who have kept our history, culture, fashion and even language alive through the power of music! The VGMA eXperience Concert is expected to be the biggest outdoor concert this year and will give fans and nominees the opportunity to engage ahead of the main awards night scheduled for the 18th of May.

Also performing at this concert are Wendy Shay, Kwesi Arthur, Adane Best, Akessi Brempong, Tinny and Sarkodie amongst others plus it is expected to attract over ten thousand fans on Saturday to the Independence Square in Accra. Ghanaian musical lovers across the Africa can tune it to DStv Channel 196 and GOtv Channel 129 watch live the VGMA eXperience Concert this Saturday from 9pm with a repeat on Monday at 6pm.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car. Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
