MOTW Preview: Bournemouth vs Wolves

Wolves take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League at 3 o’clock as the two face off for the second time this season live on KFS.

The away team could go within eight points of sixth place if they find the win here, while Bournemouth have the opportunity to close the gap on their opponents to just three points if they earn victory.

Having won just two of their last five matches and losing the other three, results have been disappointing in recent weeks for Bournemouth. After a loss at Goodison Park versus Everton, they bounced back with successive victories against West Ham and Chelsea, keeping a clean sheet in both ties and netting six times themselves.

Despite a hugely positive 4-0 thrashing of Sarri’s side, Bournemouth subsequently suffered a defeat at the hands of Cardiff City, which was then succeeded by a second loss in a row at Anfield as the title challengers, Liverpool, scored three timed to no reply.

Callum Wilson tops the scoring charts at Bournemouth by two goals having netted ten times himself as of now, while Josh King has bagged eight goals so far this season. Wilson is currently injured however and expected to return in March, while Bournemouth’s past two defeats have seen King struggle to create chances. Junior Stanislas and David Brooks are also set to miss out due to their respective injury problems.

Wolves have not lost since the middle of January, a run of seven matches in all competitions, and that defeat came at the Etihad. Since then they have won five matches and drawn twice, three of those games coming in the FA Cup. In recent games their results have been positive, beating West Ham and Everton, scoring six in the two matches combined, while also knocking Shrewsbury Town out of the FA Cup.

A stalemate at home to Newcastle turned out to be a positive point as it looked certain that the visitors would take all three points until the very last minute when Dubravka made a mistake and handed a goal to Willy Boly. Wolves’ last match saw them defeat Bristol City in the FA Cup.

27-year-old Raul Jimenez leads the goal-scoring charts for Wolves right now having found the net nine times, though the striker has not scored in his last three appearances.

Fellow attacker Diogo Jota has been excellent this season and has earned four goal involvements in his last four matches, three of which came as goals in the win against Leicester City. In terms of assists it is Joao Moutinho who has provided the goals for other with seven. The sole injury concern for Wolves ahead of this game is Matt Doherty as the defender has a knock.
