IGNITION - Gh’s First Ever High School Festival On 22nd December

On Thursday the 22nd of December, over 50 SHS from all over Ghana will converge at the Aviation Social Centre, in a friendly competition in various creative arts and sports activities, at Ghana’s first ever High School Festival dubbed – IGNITION.

Ghana has a teeming youth population but lacks a tailor-made major youth festival that celebrates the teens, their interests and talents, and gives room to their expressions. Additionally, most students come home to limited or no programs during the vacations. Psychologically, these provide deficiencies in the social development of the youth.

To this end, Charterhouse, the No1 events organisation in Ghana, has stepped into this gap, as a matter of urgency, to provide teenagers with a progressive world-class High School Festival called IGNITION. Scheduled to run twice each year, it will occupy the Christmas and summer breaks of the school calendar, offering the teens an opportunity for a healthy competitive entertainment. This will be the official “MEET ME THERE” for the vacation periods, celebrating and igniting youth passion, interests and expression is a responsible way.

Starting from 10am to 10pm, activities for the youth festival will include Rap, singing, spoken word sessions, dance battles, modelling, DJ battles, and more. The sports and games session will include the outdoor games such as basketball, volley, football, foosball and more. Other activities will include arts expressions, and creative displays of teen work. The program will also feature big acts from the music and TV youth series. Hopefully, this will be the one event even strict parents will allow their kids to attend.
With a few days to the 22nd, excitement is steadily building up as various schools tender in their participation forms. We therefore expect the biggest turn up to a Grand Maiden Festival. We expect teens from all over Gh to rep their schools. We are even eager to find out who wins the bragging rights as the Number One School?

Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
