MEDIA GENERAL CONGRATULATES MULTIMEDIA GROUP ON SILVER JUBILEE

Media General, one of Ghana’s leading media companies has congratulated the Multimedia Group on its silver jubilee. On Monday 13th January 2020, a delegation from Media General led by its General Manager, Shared Services and Operations, Winfred Kingsley Afful visited the Multimedia Group.

The visit, according to Mr. Afful was to convey their best wishes to the Multimedia Group for twenty-five years of broadcasting on behalf of the Group CEO of Media General, Beatrice Agyemang Abbey as well as management and staff. The delegation also presented a congratulatory letter and an anniversary cake to the Multimedia Group.

The congratulatory letter signed by the GCEO and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Multimedia Group, Mr. Kwasi Twum, read “we are aware of the contributions that the stations and other media platforms in your business have made towards the development of media and broadcast in particular and democracy, governance and entertainment in general and wish to commend you in that regard.

We wish to commend you as well as all your previous and current colleagues for above all, leading the way 25 years ago and sustaining your brands over the years. Let us add that we are happy to be by your side almost the entire period, opening up the space and serving the people with compelling content”.

Nana Elegba, Chief Human Resource Officer of the Mulitmedia Group thanked the Media General team for the gesture. On his part, the Chief Operations Officer of the Multimedia Group, Ken Ansah debunked the perception that both groups are in competition, rather he described the two entities as partners in the media space contributing their quota to national development.   

Other members of the Media General delegation included Abraham Asare, Acting General Manager, News, Francis Doku, General Manager, Digital and Radio, Ken Nana Addo, Group Head, Marketing, Chris Koney, Group Head Corporate Affairs, Alfred Ocansey, News Anchor and Ayisha Yakubu, News Anchor.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car. Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
