GOtv Ushers In The Holiday Season With Launch Of Planet TV

Planet TV Africa’s foremost interactive music platform hits GOtv screen from the 17th of November with the continents biggest songs, artistes, your shouts and celebrity news. GOtv subscribers, no matter the package, will now enjoy Planet TV like ever before on Channel 160.

Planet TV will see the distance between Ghana and South Africa become even smaller as the channel offers more general entertainment and lifestyle from both the West and the South Africa.

GOgetters won’t just watch Planet TV, they will experience it. It will be a new viewing experience for them” says Mabel Mabaso, CEO of Planet TV. She added that “We are still going to be 80% African content with 20 % of the content being International. We will still speak to the same age group and demographic.
In terms of interactivity, viewers have always been able to tweet, Skype and call into our live shows. We are still going to pick up feeds from Facebook and put them on live shows as they happen.

Subscribers will enjoy premium shows such as;

Planet Power: A live interactive request show. Twitter sphere: A social media orientated show exploring social media trends , entertainment news and giving live updates to the viewer from various hip locations while simultaneously interacting via twitter.

Planet Mix: The continents biggest songs remixed for your viewing and listening pleasure by the continents biggest Dj’s

The music scene in Africa has been very vibrant and channels like Planet TV have given artistes the platform to showcase their talent to the world said Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, General Manager, Multichoice Ghana.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car. Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
