Patience Nyarko - Am Not At ‘War’ With S P Kofi Sarpong But…

Gospel musician, Patience Nyarko, has debunked claims going rounds in the media that, she is at ‘war’ with colleague gospel musician S. P Kofi Sarpong, over a swipe at VGMAs board for nominating him in the album of the year category.

The ‘Wafom Kwam’ hit maker, yesterday on Accra FM’s Midday Show revealed that, she has no beef with S. P Kofi Sarpong, for they have a very good relationship, just as she have with the other celebrities in the entertainment industry.

“I really do not know where all these speculations are coming from. It’s one of those things that some people have cooked up to defame me. But the truth is, there is nothing of that sought, we are very cool.

I have met S P Kofi Sarpong on several radio talk shows and events and we talked and laughed, but I cannot say for a fact if he has something against me” - Patience revealed.

Explaining what transpired for the rumors, the musician who has been nominated for Gospel Song of the Year and Gospel Artist of the Year in the coming 2016 VGMAs stated that, “the VGMA Board publicly announced that, no Gospel Artist qualifies for the Gospel Album of the Year since no musician had two or three hit songs on his or her album, so I was of the view that, why must S. P Kofi Sarpong be nominated in the overall Album of the year category”.

Meanwhile, the VGMA board, have scrapped the Gospel Album of the Year category from this year’s event, but it seems S P Kofi Sarpong was able to get his way through to the overall Album of the Year category.

Patience Nyarko again said on the show that, she is hopeful her hit song ‘Wafom Kwam’ will bag home the Gospel Song of the Year award, since it has topped most of the chat shows and leave the Artist of the Year Award to the several nominees to share it.
