Mahachi Brings Don Jazzy To Zimbabwe

Josey Mahachi, the woman who brought Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote to Zimbabwe is set to write history again, this time in the music industry as she brings Don Jazzy to Zimbabwe.

Mahachi is co-founder and owner of BrandMe Investments which will be holding Africa Unite Through Entertainment Workshop starting on 21 April. In an exclusive interview with The Herald Mahachi said that the idea of inviting the workshop was a spin off of Dangote's visit:

"The idea to do this came from the time that Dangote came to the country. I realised that he was someone for the big people. But I believe that we should never leave the youths out of anything that we do so I wanted to do something that is directly for the youths.

"When you look at the Nigerian entertainment industry, it is serious business and a big part of the economy. Why can we not do the same here? We have a lot of talent," said Mahachi.

Don Jazzy who is an artiste and producer lays claim to Africa's number 1 music label Recods as his pay off line for his Mavin production house.

He has some of the biggest continental stars in his stable including Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, D'Prince, Di'Ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello. Mavin Records produced the popular Dorobucci in 2014.

The workshop will held at Joina City. Brandme PR manager Mr Lee Gore said the event is set to shake up the local music industry:

"There are many excting activities lined up. Don Jazzy is bringing three of his top artistes. There will be a city tour and a video shoot. There are two days of workshops, one for musicians and another for producers," said Mr Gore.

Details of the artistes who will be coming and the itinerary will be revealed at a media conference to be held at Joina City this morning.
