I DIDN’T EXPECT THE PRANK TO WORK - AJ SARPONG

One of Ghana’s most elaborate April fools prank must be the marriage proposal which involved Comedian DKB and TV and Radio Personality AJ Sarpong which set social media on fire and sent many tongues wagging on the possibility of a secret 4 year relationship between the two.

The proposal which was staged Live on GhOne’s morning show, Gh Today, had many people believing that the two media personalities were indeed heading towards the alter, while a few realizing the date being April 1st meant it could be a prank and voiced those opinions.

Indeed it turned out to be as some suspected, an elaborate prank for April fool’s day when DKB and AJ came out to tell their fans that indeed they were nothing but good friends and there was no impending nuptials later in the day, after keeping the façade going for most part of the day.

AJ speaking on the Prank said she didn’t expect anyone to believe the Prank when she and the team at GHOne thought of it. “I initially thought it was not going to work, I was really skeptical anyone will believe a comedian proposing on April fool’s day especially when no one has heard of any such relationship before.” She said. “I actually considered calling it off in the morning but decided to go through with it anyways, and it turned out that more people believed it was true than doubted it. In fact I had calls from family members and friends wanting to confirm the story and my phone didn’t stop ringing all day in fact” She added.

“The hardest thing was not telling the truth to friends to keep the prank going, and I think the reason why I had people believing it the most is that I am usually very truthful and honest so this lead to a lot more people accepting it because I confirmed it”  she continued.

AJ Sarpong is definitely no stranger to the Ghanaian media industry as she has played various key roles in many sectors of the media industry over the past couple of years, however this Curvaceous Beauty who turns 25 years this year has fast risen from behind the scenes to be one to watch in front of the cameras on Ghanaian television screens.

The Bubbly beauty is on our screens every morning with her infectious laughter on News Xtra, the entertainment section of the Morning show on Gh One TV, GH Today with Kafui Dey and Baisiwaa Hammond and has been dubbed the “Princess of Morning TV”.

Born Nana Adjoa Akuoko-Sarpong, she is the last child of Traditional Ruler and Political Stalwart, Nana Kwame Akuoko-Sarpong, the Omanhene of Agogo Traditional Area, however this Born Princess has proven that she wants to be a woman of her own, away from Her Father’s shadow and Politics and is pursuing the world and her career on her own terms.

AJ holds a degree in Political Science and Theatre Arts from, the University of Ghana and is an epitome of beauty and brains as she is also currently pursuing her Masters in Journalism and still manages to juggle her hectic work schedule with school life.
