Telecel Ghana has unveiled the ten outstanding final-year female students selected for the 2026 cohort of its Female Engineering Students Scholarship Programme (FESSP), an early career development programme aimed at increasing female representation in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field. The female scholars, drawn from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the University of Ghana (UG), the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), were selected through a competitive process that assessed academic excellence, leadership potential and industry readiness.

An international relations student at Cumbria University, Rumzia Sule, has been officially crowned Miss Ghana 2026, emerging victorious over 12 other contestants to claim the coveted national title. The grand finale of the 69th edition, held under the theme “Empowering Women, Enduring Legacy,” saw the University of Ghana graduate Fatimatu Zara Ishacu finish as the first runner-up and Whitney Opoku Nketia was adjudged the second runner-up. Anita Dankwa and Nedlyn Appiah won 3rd and 4th runners-up respectively. Other awards, such as Miss Fitness, Miss Talent, Miss Eloquent, Most Beautiful Skin, Miss Congeniality, Most Disciplined, and Miss Photogenic, went to Nedlyn Appiah, Lucille Akua Oputa-Otutu, Davinia Owusu Kuffuor, Lawrencia Serwaa Amankwa, Fatimatu Zara Ishacu, Anita Appiah, and Whitney Opoku Nketia, in that order. Telecel Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, has been recognised as one of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)'s distinguished alumni in the telecommunications sector, earning a feature in the university's 75th anniversary commemorative publication, 70 Years of Global Impact. The commemorative book, unveiled at the anniversary launch under the theme "From Excellence to Eminence: 75 Years of KNUST," celebrates alumni whose leadership, innovation and contributions have shaped industries and advanced national and global development over the past seven decades.

Senior leadership of telecommunications multinational, Telecel Group, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, to reaffirm their long-term commitment to investing in Ghana's digital infrastructure and supporting national development.
