Hurray!!! DStv Ghana Launches Wi-FI Connector For Online Viewing

MultiChoice is expanding its current offering to customers through the latest technology and has unveiled a suite of connected services.

The latest addition is the Wi-Fi Connector, which supports the DStv Explora’s internet capable access to allow subscribers enjoy enhanced DStv service through their DStv Explora with a broadband internet connection.

The DStv Wi-Fi Connector is a device that links your DStv Explora to the broadband internet router in your home. It does so via wireless. By linking your DStv Explora to the internet, you get access to Connected Services – namely DStv Catch Up Plus and enables the Remote Recording facility.

DStv has partnered with Surfline to allow customers of the two providers enjoy premium services. DStv subscribers with a Surfline device can purchase additional 25 GB a month for GHC99 instead of GHC230 to enjoy content on the DStv Catch Up Plus. The offer is not limited to existing subscribers only, new subscribers can purchase a new Surfline device and connect to the DStv Data Bundle.

Subscribers on this plan are FREE to stream unlimited videos from the special video pack without using a drop of their main data balance. “We are always interested in new ways to bring our content to our customers, with the addition of the Wi-Fi connector and video pack bundle, DStv subscribers can now enjoy quality shows on the go, no need to wait to go home to “catch Up”, content is now available whenever and whenever you find yourself” commented Mr. Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, the General Manager of DStv Ghana

Customers can choose up to 25 titles from the DStv Catch Up Plus library to download to their Explora, to watch when it suits them. At the same time, access to Remote Recording means customers can record their favorite shows on your DStv Explora from DStv.com via your laptop, smartphone or tablet when away from their DStv Explora.  Remote Recording is also accessible on the DStv Now app once your decoder is online. The app is available on iOS or Android mobile devices, can access 12 channels and DStv Catch Up content once connected to your account.

The DStv Explora decoder is a PVR decoder which gives viewers more control to personalize their DStv viewing experience. With the DStv Explora decoder, subscribers can save up to 220 hours of personal recorded content, view one programme while recording the other, pause live TV for up to 2 hours, retain buffering when changing channels, conduct word searches and personalize individual user themes.
