Starr FM’s DJ Vyrusky Nominated At NEA Awards

Starr 103.5 FM’s turntable DJ, Kofi Amoako affectionately known as DJ Vyrusky has been nominated for the 11th Annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA).

DJ Vyrusky was nominated for African (Non Nigerian) Disc Jockey and he will be battling it out alongside, DJ Mensah (GH), DJ Lebbie (SL), DJ Bossman (LIB), DJ Joe Mfalme (KQ) and DJ Slick Stuart Roja (UG).

DJ Vyrusky was adjudged the overall best Club DJ of the Year and Best Events DJ of the Year at the 2015 edition of the Ghana DJs Awards.

Master of the Turntables, as he is commonly called by his fans, was nominated in four categories: Club DJ, Artiste DJ, Events DJ and Mixtape DJ.

DJ Vyrusky is the official DJ for Ghana's biggest drive show, Starr Drive on Starr 103.5FM. Coming from a business background, DJ Vyrusky has a deeper understanding of the arts and has spent years from his student days trying to learn what it takes to crisscross genres without losing the attention of audience. It has taken DJ Vyrusky years of playing for friends to become the official DJ for MzVee, Shatta Wale and the official DJ for Radio and TV Personality (RTP) Awards 2012.


He has established himself as a force to reckon with when it comes to talk of town events and has performed on platforms like Ghana Meet Naija, Tidal Rave, Ghana DJs Awards, Red Room at VGMA and DJ Vyusky holds Masters in Insurance Degree from University of Ghana, Legon

The producers of the 11th NEA announced the list last night. The NEAs is an annual award ceremony with primary objective of recognizing the contributions of Nigerian and African Entertainers.

According to the Producers, “the award ceremony, is not only focused on recognizing Nigerian entertainers but also highlight Nigerians who continue to make an impact in our immediate communities in Nigeria or extended communities in the diaspora.”

NEA Awards was established in New York City in January of 2006. NEA Awards is an annual event focused on recognizing the many contributions of African Entertainers to a thriving entertainment industry. The producers of the event are dedicated to promoting the image and rich culture of Nigeria in the continent and around the globe. This dedication has increased the awareness of a new edgy style of African Entertainment that has helped promote Nigerian acts to the world.

The 2016 NEAs will be held on September 4, 2016 in New York City, during the Labor Day weekend.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA).
