The Accra Symphony Orchestra’s presents the music concert, “ACCRA GOES TO THE OPERA”. This will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday 9th July 2016 at 7.30pm.
The Accra Symphony Orchestra has become a force to reckon with as one of the best Classical Music Ensembles in Africa. Created in 2012, as the brainchild of Dr. Mensa Otabil, the Accra Symphony Orchestra was primarily an instrumental ensemble.
With the addition of the operatic voices, LUMINA in 2014, the Accra Symphony Orchestra is poised to pioneer a classical and operatic musical renaissance in Africa.
The Orchestra has a vast repertoire of opera, operative pop and classical music from all world cultures.
On the 9th of July, the Accra Symphony Orchestra and its stunning vocal section, LUMINA, will thrill patrons at the Conference Centre with an electrifying performance ranging from Carl Orff’s” O Fortuna” of Camina Burana, selection of classics from The Soundz of Music and the music of African giants, Manu Dibango of Cameroon, Osibisa of Ghana and Fela Ransome Kuti of Nigeria.
Accra goes to the opera, a groundbreaking concert not to be missed.
