Movie director Pascal Aka has eulogized BET award winner Sarkodie as one Ghanaian musician who pays well for good-quality music videos.
Pascal in an interview on AM Pluzz bemoaned the love for low budget visuals by some musicians, a situation he said doesn’t allow film directors to come out with quality works, adding that about eighty percent (80%) of Ghanaian Musicians do not want to patronize expensive music videos.
The Chief Executive Officer of Breakthrough Media Productions also condemned the attitude where musicians whose music videos win awards, fail to acknowledge the works of Video directors.
“Should the video win Best music video award, the artist takes it without giving recognition to the directors. They refuse to mention the movie director’s name when they win awards.”
The award winning director has worked for quite a number of reputable Ghanaian secular and gospel musicians.
Some of his music videos include Criss Waddle’s ‘Ayi’ ft Bisa Kdei, Obrafour’s ‘Nkontompo’ and D Black’s Vera.
He mentioned Cwesi Oteng (Count your blessings) and Preachers (crazy) as gospel musicians he has worked with.
