The Accra State House buzzed with representatives from local sport media, Ghanaian personalities and industry heavy weights as leading sports brand, Adidas with retail Ghana partner Nutmeg Limited partnered Primeval Media Ghana to announce the hosting of 2016 Unity Match.
The Unity Match aims to galvanize Ghanaians from all walks of life towards a united Ghana as this remarkable country of the Black stars make giant strides in Democracy and national inclusion.
Speaking to the media following the announcement of Adidas partnership, CEO, Adidas Ghana, Valerie Fontanier-Ghajar said Ghana is set on a high pedestal as one of the shining lights of Democracy in Africa.
“Ghana is the pride of Africa’s Democracy and what better way to showcase this united stand towards a noble cause than in a game of football? Ghana is the home of Africa’s next generation of football greats-and of course, and Adidas the world’s best sport brand is proud to be a contributor to Ghana’s success in sports,” Valerie says.
Primeval Media will stage a two-legged football match between an international team of stars like; Samuel Eto’Ó, Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Steve McManaman, Edgar Davids, George Boateng, Emmanuel Adebayor, including Ghana legends like Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, Richard Kingson, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Kevin Prince Boateng, etc., who will play against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and an Asamoah Gyan-led squad of the Black Stars at the Baba Yara and Accra Sports Stadia June 8 and 11, 2016 respectively.
“It is a great event for Adidas as the entire team of football greats and upcoming talents will be adorned in Adidas latest sport gears,” the Adidas Ghana CEO added.
