Photos: The Fabulous Woman Speaks Conference Urges Women To ‘Shine Like You Were Born To’

On Saturday 6th February, 2016 Golden Tulip Kumasi City was invaded by 300+ elegantly –dressed fabulous women and some few gallant men. At the sight of this parade of beauty, one would have wondered what was happening.

Well, it was The Fabulous Woman Speaks, a conference on the theme: Fabulous Woman, Enough with the excuses! Shine like you were born to!!! It was organized by The Fabulous Woman Network (TFWN) – an organization that aims to celebrate and inspire women.

Hosted by Mrs. Ama Duncan (Founder of TFWN and a Corporate Trainer), this conference drew together women from Accra, Tarkwa, Ho, Takoradi and Kumasi. There were 5 Fabulous Speakers who used life as well as their own personal experiences to inspire their fabulous sisters to stop making excuses and shine like they were born to.

The speakers included Mrs. Francisca Ampratwum, CEO of Perfect Health Company Limited, Mrs. Marilyn Owusu, CEO of Ace Consult, Mrs. Elsie Ayeh, a Management Consultant, Miss Jeremie Van-Garshong of Live Fm/Unashamed and Mrs. Ama Duncan. MC was Ms. Anita Kuma of Luv FM/Multimedia Group.

Oh but it was not just about speaking, there was an amazing duet by Louise Ampiah and Emy Nkrumah, and make up tips by Ms. Abigail Baffour-Awuah of Abby’s Wand. When Miss Onyameba Betty mounted the stage, you could see the sadness in people’s eyes as she spoke briefly about the loss of her legs through an accident.

However, that was soon forgotten when she said ‘legs or no legs, I’ll praise my creator’ right before she wowed the audience with her beautiful voice singing praises to her Creator.

Miss Vera Obeng of Vera Obeng Photography unveiled her exhibition of The Fabulous Woman which was a portriat of Onyameba Betty. This was very emotional yet symbolic because according to the organizers, The Fabulous Woman is one who is using her God-given gifts to shine in spite of her past, failures, mistakes and challenges. This portrait generated an amount of money to help Miss Onyameba Betty achieve her dream of walking again.

The room was filled with tremendous emotion at this time. Some selected fabulous women also exhibited their products and services during the conference. Some of the items were beaded jewelry, Made-In-Ghana clothing and accessories, books, healthy foods, kids clothing and foods, etc. The event ended with a powerful prayer led by The Fabulous Lady Boss Mrs. Yawa Hansen-Quao. It was then followed by a Networking Lunch which was aimed at connecting various women in business. In attendance were entrepreneurs and professional women.

At the end of The Fabulous Woman Speaks conference, participants were so happy they attended as they were filled with inspiration to pursue the dreams that had been lying dormant. Others who were already living their dream were motivated to go on, no matter the challenge.

‘I had no idea God was planning to fill this space up. It has been an amazing experience with deep inspiration to never give up’ said Mrs. Ama Duncan after the event. She also announced that The Fabulous Woman Network will conduct training courses for women as well as plan trips to senior high schools to inspire young women to shine.

The team was grateful to their sponsors: Golden Tulip Kumasi City, Royal Lady Sanitary Pads, Olam Cocoa, Newshorn Dental Clinic, Voltic Ghana Limited, Opoku Trading Supermarket, KOWA Business Services and Dougboat Enterprise. They were also supported by: Vera Obeng Photography, Abby's Wand, Corporate Training Solutions, Jessy Dadzie Foundation, Unashamed and many Gallant Men who back The Fabulous Woman Network.
