OFFICIAL STATEMENT: RAC IS NO LONGER AFFILIATED WITH MISS UNIVERSE GHANA PAGEANT

Roberta Annan Consulting [RAC], the former license holder, for the Miss Universe Ghana franchise is no longer affiliated with the Miss Universe Ghana [MUG] pageant.

RAC‘s association with the MUG pageant begun in 2012 when we partnered with INSIGNIA to organize that year’s event with Ms. Gifty Ofori   emerging as the winner.

INSIGNIA held the pageant license as well as the official contract with the winner at the time. We parted ways with INSIGNIA due to operational differences, and only found out later through the media reportage that the winner had been dethroned.

In 2013, RAC acquired the license for the world renowned pageant for a period of 3 years; from 2013 to 2015. Thus 2015’s pageant marked the last Miss Universe Ghana pageant to be organized by the company.

We therefore wish to inform the general public that RAC is no longer affiliated with the Miss Universe Ghana pageant.

Our aim as a company has always been to project the very best of Ghanaian culture and beauty to the world.

We have pursued this goal with pride and made significant strides in this regard; for this we are grateful to Miss Universe International for the opportunity.

We thank the media, our corporate partners and supporters who have kept faith with us and have consistently supported the MUG pageant during the period.

RAC will continue to promote the very best of Ghanaian culture and lifestyle to the rest of the world through our many projects and campaigns both locally and internationally.

We believe that beauty pageants such as MUG amongst others play a major role in projecting a positive image for the nation and its tourist attractions as well as the continent as a whole. All stakeholders must therefore continue to support and encourage pageant organizers to deliver the very best for the good of all.

We look forward to lending our support and goodwill to the new MUG license holders to enable them to effectively build on the success the brand has achieved over the last few years.
