As a former manager of Epixode, listening to the play back of his interview on Happy FM last Saturday leaves me with so much sadness, fear and disappointments .
The denials are expected but hey it was so clear that whatever happened on the show pertaining to the Samini's pledge was premeditated and executed in bad faith..It's sometimes permitted in showbiz circles to engage in stunts and stuff for hype and it's not out of place to ask or inquire about the pledge but the mode adopted was highly unnecessary to say the least especially to go down and mention Samini's name on radio and make it look as if he's the only one yet to fulfill whatever pledge he made that day.
You could be right, but the picture that'll be painted would always be the one that seeks to only embarrass Samini and subject him to ridicule coz of how you chose to go about it. For crying out loud which serious record label would hide behind an artiste and push this kind of agenda instead of it rather taking the front line, initiating the move and then moving into the defence of the artiste more so when it has to do with business ? It is even your duty as management to some extent manage the emotions of the artiste and guard him/her with regards to what he/she churns out to the public.
Why would you incite unnecessary hatred for your artiste and carelessly go out to severe a relationship between himself and others? To even ask, was going on radio or public with such an issue the first better option worthy of considering ?? .Management and labels would always come and go but relationships between artistes must and would still linger on...Micheal Jackson's management once sued his sister Janet Jackson's management for allowing Janet to to impersonate Micheal on a show, This was a clear management to management affair and that's how it should have been. No one conversant with the culture in which the Ghanaian music industry is shrouded in will advise such a reckless move. I know what I'm saying coz I have been there before and I can't be in the silence mode seeing something I've been part and worked hard in building to just take a wrong turn. This has high tendencies of creating disaffection for the artiste and we can't afford to jeopardize with the future of such a talent.
Gbevu Music Group must sit up and attach some line seriousness to the brand coz it took people's hard work and toil to get it well baked and ripe ! The image of the brand you selling must come first in almost all things and not what you look to milk out.. Bad move and PR work!! #StiilEpixodeTillGrave.
