Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond Announces 2016 Arts For Charity Workshop In Support Of Children Living With HIV /AIDS

GHOne Tv’s Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond and the Pumpkins Foundation have announced the 2016 Arts for Charity Workshop in support of children living with HIV /AIDS.

The exercise, under the #becreative initiative of the Pumpkins Foundation seeks to encourage children of all ages to exhibit their creative abilities.

Over a period of 4 weeks, the Pumpkins Foundation with support from volunteers will work with over 2000 children to undertake various forms of creative works such as paintings, bead work, ceramics among others.

The Gh Today host who is also Founder and Executive Director of the Pumpkins Foundation, says the creative works would be auctioned and proceeds will go to support the 2016 project of the Foundation which is to transform the children living with HIV/AIDS department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital into a child-friendly one as well as provide nutritional support to the children.

Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond said “It’s all about impacting lives, therefore the idea of children’s participation in the Arts for Charity Workshop is a way of getting them to feel a part of the process of giving one of their own a better chance in life”.

The foundation also called for support in the procurement of a list of Items and Tools needed for the upcoming workshop.
They include Ribbons, Canvas Material Chassis/ Frames for canvas, Acrylic paint, Poster colors, White Emulsion paint,Crayons, Color Pencils and Felt pens, Brushes:- wall brushes and Artist brushes, Cartridge (A4) paper, treated Leather, Plywood/ wood chippings, Strawboard and Card board, Paper glue and Topbond White Glue.

The Pumpkins Foundation was established in 2011 as a child focused organization dedicated to the total empowerment of children and their communities and the promotion of the general wellbeing of the poor and needy ones.
The Foundation has since been implementing strategies and creating opportunities to address the educational, health, economic and other needs of children through community-driven initiatives.

The 2016 Pumpkins Arts for Charity Workshop is slated for September 30, October 7, 14 and 21 respectively at the Salvation Army cluster of schools, Mamprobi, Accra.
