“Airtel Ghana acknowledges that quality education can only be attained through the provision of the requisite infrastructure and learning resources to enhance effective teaching and learning, hence our decision to provide this facility and the many others spread across the country to support the education of our future leaders”. He concluded.
The Odikro of Ajumako Entumbil, Nana Krampah Kwame Saisi VIII in his remarks expressed his excitement about the facility and the benefits to the youth in his community. He said “in the past it was fashionable to see students’ troop to community libraries not only to read but also borrow some story books. We are happy that after some years without a functioning library, we can boast of a well-stocked, state of the art library facility that will serve the needs of our young people.
This will go a long way to promote the culture of reading, improved spelling and fluency in the English language. On behalf of the community, I extend my warmest appreciation to Airtel Ghana for this wonderful gesture”.
He added, “Let me also use this opportunity to thank Ms. Henrietta Beechem, who nominated this community to benefit from this library facility through the Airtel Touching Lives programme. She’s made a big impact on this community through her efforts”
Airtel’s flagship CSR programme – Airtel Touching Lives which is a platform to celebrate humanity whilst inspiring hope and enhancing people’s quality of life has over the years won many accolades including CIMG TV Programme of the Year, IPR Best Community Programme of the Year on three consecutive occasions and Bharti Change Marker Award (Gold Category) in 2014 and 2015.
