It is why the introduction of SN Media Learning Tree is seen as a welcome addition.

For Nana Aba Anamoah, co-founder of SN Media Learning Tree, providing expert training is necessary to produce skilled professionals.

“Our mission is to serve the Ghanaian community with an effective, innovative and practical six-week media training course rooted in research and practical work,” the celebrated journalist says.
“We seek to offer students a practical hands-on-learning approach guided by seasoned broadcasters and industry persons to reach student-learning goals. These practical sessions are designed to improve student learning whilst provide them with the richest educational opportunities available, including extended learning time and academic enrichment activities,” she says.

For Sandra Ankobiah, the other co-founder of the institute, their aim with the school is help students learn new skills in a supportive environment!

“The courses at SN Media Learning Tree are taught by acclaimed media professionals, practitioners, academics and experts,” the renowned TV personality says.

“Therefore students will be fully fledged professionals with an outstanding practical background on graduation. Our graduates will have the confidence and expertise to function in an ever-changing media landscape on both domestic and international fronts,” she adds.

The first batch of students are already raving about how the small group setting in the school has provided them with expert advice to be well-equipped in how to handle any media situation.

“The training I’ve received at SN Media Learning Tree over the last few weeks has been excellent,” Martha Agyei, a student of the school said. “The school is run by professionals in radio and television and they give us a chance to develop our writing and interview skills through practical experience. The feedback we get from them is outstanding, showing how much they appreciate training us.”

For what the school has sort to achieve, many see it as a vital tool in helping students towards performance excellence. They have made the case that the school really is geared towards providing effective tools for promoting and developing students for various media fields regionally and internationally.

Which is why for experts and the like, the school is set to change the face of media training in the country and beyond.
