Multiple award-winning South African singer, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, will headline the 2016 Vodafone African Legends Night.
Named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 40 most powerful African celebrities, Yvonne becomes the first female singer to headline the show since it started last six years.
The Princess of Africa, who has performed for the Queen of England Queen Elizabeth, former US President Bill Clinton, Ex-South African President Thabo Mbeki, and many other world leaders will perform alongside other Ghanaian music stars to some of her popular songs such as “I am in love with the DJ”, “I am Burning Up”, “Thank You Mr. DJ”, Umqombothi (featured in the Hotel Rwanda movie) among others.
Yvonne has been in the music industry for more than 25 years. She has shared the stage with megastars such as Bono, Angelique Kidjo, Annie Lennox, Youssou N’Dour, Johnny Clegg, Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela.
The African Legends Night honours musicians who have put Africa’s rich culture and heritage on the global stage and has attracted over 1,000 audience to the nation’s Banquet Hall, State House with soothing, exciting and danceable African tunes.
