Trôofê African Food Festival To Be Held In Ghana On July 1 - 2

Trôofê Festival, an event which showcases traditional African cuisine  will host some of Africa’s best chefs at the 5th  soup fair slated for  Friday 1st July to Saturday 2nd July,2016 , at Mmofra  park Foundation located at Dzorwulu in Accra.

The festival has been remarkably successful over the years in attracting over 1,000 festival goers of different nationalities.

For four consecutive years, The Trôofê Soup Fair has brought together African and European community in Accra to an exciting African food bazaar.

In 2015, Trôofê Festival had the participation of the following countries through its culinary contest: Côte d’Ivoire; Benin; Gabon; Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.

In her Address, Edwige Eppromo, Troofe Project Manager, the brain behind the initiative said:  “We have always been witnessing all kinds of promotions of the African wealth, but there is no platform designed for the real African gastronomy. This is therefore the opportunity for us to value the gastronomic culture mainly based on soups and which is the pride of Africa. This culinary value will make our young girls the women of tomorrow.”

“Africa abounds in a multitude of flavors, our last motivation is the desire to bring together all Africans and all other foreign nationals, longing to meet with brothers in a traditional and friendly musical ambience”.

The Fair also offers young women from the African continent the opportunity to exhibit their culinary skills in a cooking contest.

The Culinary Contests between girls from 19 to 25 years of different nationalities is organized.

At the last fair, the Ghanaian candidate Jamilatu Issa emerged top at the contest winning.

As her prize took-away, she won a return ticket to Cote’ d’Ivoire which was sponsored by Air Ivoire

The Trôofê village, an exciting attraction of the fair offers the platform for African artists to perform and make participants enjoy the depths of African traditions.

Participants are invited to play traditional games such as Oware, Ludo, and Draughts. The fair also creates opportunities for the private and public sectors to get visibility on their brands and achieve their strategic communication goals.
