PHOTOS: PRAYE AND VVIP UNITE TO THRILL OVER 16,000 FANS

On Tuesday the third of May 2016, football fans from all around the Central Region, converged at an exquisite arena. 

The President, Traditional leaders, Clergy, Students and members of the diplomatic corp had joined the mammoth crowd to inaugurate the new sporting complex/ stadium which had been built for the people of Cape Coast, through funding from the Chinese.

The atmosphere was electric, as horns and voices of over 16,000 fans came together to create a melodious cacophony. After speeches by all the dignitaries, the President of the republic of Ghana, kicked off a match between the national youth teams of Ghana and that of China. The fans were thrown into a frenzy, as the players displayed their skills on the beautiful, hydrated and plush green pitch. There were roars of joy every time the ball headed towards the Chinese goal post.

During the halftime break, an army clad in white stormed the pitch. Legendary music groups, VVIP and Praye were joined by Stranjah, Luther and a few more to announce their presence. There was a wave of screams as the army ran around the stadium interacting with fans. After the second half of the match, which ended in a two goal draw, the men were back to rock the adoring fans.


Praye and VVIP mounted the stage together and took turns to perform hits to the crowd which were already in a frenzy. VVIP dropped tunes that were twenty years old and got the crowd singing, as Praye caused the crowd to break out of the stands with hits like Concentrate, Shoddy, which, Angelina,New dance and their new hit, KPORTOR which had the crowd signing along.

Speaking to spokesman for Praye, he explained that the concept behind performing as one unit was to instill the idea of unity, as Ghana approaches it’s all-important elections.
