The maiden edition of the Ghana Street Food Festival, anchored by Ghana’s prolific event & hospitality management company, SHBS is set to take off on Saturday April 30 to Sunday 1st of May 2016 at the Aviation Social Center respectively.

According to the organizers, the 1st ever Ghana Street Food Festival seeks to become one of the country’s major annual event. It will display a variety of both traditional and international street food; proudly made in Ghana food and hygiene related products, locally made artifacts and items that will uphold Africa’s heritage to the rest of the world.

The feast will be two fun-filled days of authentic street food tastes, socializing and entertainments; it is expected to entice over 2000 people from different social backgrounds per day.

Ghana Street Food Festival’s theme for its first year is “Promoting Tourism, The Role of the Street Food Vendor”. As part of the festival’s routine, there will be free eye screening for all; health and investment talks for food vendors and children’s cooking class for ages 7-10.

Awards will be given to the first 3 Food Vendors that operates the cleanest food/drink stall at the Ghana Street Food Festival 2016. Other activities include live entertainments, food, drinks and product sales alongside playground for kids. Saturday night will feature a “Night Life on the Street” at the event with an interesting medley of flavors; counting from night foods, drinks, good music, comedy & dance.

SHBS’ aim for hosting this festival is to promote healthy street food operations in Ghana, to reintroduce our local street foods & snacks that are no longer popular and to give that Ghanaian community an opportunity to experience some of their favorite street food in a clean/healthier atmosphere.

The festival is part of SHBS’ project of educating and training street food vendors in Ghana.

The Ghana Street Food Festival Brings the General Public together to support & promote hygienic street food operations. This is for a good cause.
