VP Records Announces That Stonebwoy Is Up For Grammy Awards ‘Best Reggae Album’ Consideration

VP Records, the World’s Leading Reggae Label, which has a distribution deal with  Stonebwoy has announced that the Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artist made the list of ‘Best Reggae Album’ for Grammy Voters to consider for the top five final list.

In an Instagram post, Stonebwoy informed that the 6 -song set album has made it to the list of albums that will be voted for to the top 5 best reggae albums which in turn will earn a nomination for the world’s biggest award.

The Livingstone EP which happens to be the 3rd album from the Ghanaian superstar Stonebwoy was unveiled and distributed on 18th of December,2015 by VP Records and Vpal Music. The songs on the album were produced by Beatz Dakay, Mo Beatz and Awaga.



Stonebwoy is in the same boat with Ghanaian reggae musician Black Prophet as his Stories of Life Album is also yet to be voted for a slot for the Best Reggae Album nomination. Black prophet also announced via his Facebook platform calling on all and sundry to support him on this.

He wrote: ” CALL TO ACTION!!! The album ”Stories of Life” has an opportunity to be consider for nomination for the 59th Grammy Award 2017 for Best Reggae Album. The Grammy Awards 2017 nominations process moves to phase two Phase one of voting for the Grammy Awards nominations is now over. First-round ballots were sent to approximately 13,000 voting members on Oct. 14 and were due back last Friday (Nov. 4).

Academy members were asked to vote only in their areas of expertise and could weigh in on up to 15 categories in the genre fields plus the four General Field awards (Album, Record and Song of the Year, Best New Artist.) So, what happens next?

In 12 fields — Alternative, Comedy, Contemporary Instrumental, Musical Theater, New Age, Pop, Rap, Reggae, Rock, Spoken Word, Visual Media and World Music — those first-round ballots will be used to determine the nominees.
