The 2016 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, main awards ceremony came to a climatic end with a 13-song high-octane performance from PSquare, Africa's biggest music duo, who churned out back to back medley of their greatest hits on Sunday, November 6 2016 at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
African fans of Peter and Paul Okoye, the dynamic twin brothers who make up the legendary music group, were overjoyed to welcome the brothers on their first continental live performance stage since their reconciliation after the very public family feud which threatened the existence of the multi-award winning group.
Winner of the AFRIMA 2014 Best African Group Category, PSquare reminded the more than 5,000 audience members at the awards, consisting of government officials, other African artistes and guests, why they are still a force of reckon in the African music industry. The duo worked the crowd into a frenzy with hits like "Beautiful Onyinye", "E No Easy", "Shekini", "Do Me" and "Ifunaya". More excitement was to follow when PSquare invited Nigerian music act and former label mate, Maydee on stage for a performance of their collaborative hit song "Chop My Money".
However, the high point of the PSquare's appearance at the AFRIMA 2016 main awards stage was the collaboration with Tanzania's music sensation, Diamond Platnumz (winner of the 2016 AFRIMA for Song of the Year) on recent collaborative chart buster, "Kidogo". The awards crowd was kept on its feet throughout the history making closing performance.
