Wiyaala To Perform At Womad International Arts Festival On Friday

Wiyaala will be repping Ghana in more ways than one when to she gets to the Womad International Arts Festival in the UK next Friday 29th July.

Not only will she perform with her band at 9.30pm on the Ecotricity Stage, but the uber talented songstress from the Upper West Region will also cook a traditional Ghanaian dish for festival goers at Womad’s Taste the World Stage earlier in the day.

Wiyaala says she is very excited because it’s yet another chance to promote Ghanaian culture to a European audience in a positive way. “I’ll be cooking TZ and Groundnut Stew with chicken.

Luckily the Taste The World people at Womad are going to be helping me prepare the dish while I’m talking to the audience about our wonderful Ghanaian food.”

Also performing at Womad from Ghana will be the renowned High Life artist Pat Thomas and the Kwasibu Area Band who are also currently on tour in Europe.
Wiyaala is adding more UK dates to her 2016 European itinerary when she joins the Voices of the Revolution tour at the end of August with performances scheduled at POP Brixton, Ronnie Scotts, Shambala Festival, Festival Number 6 and the Freedom Festival.

The award winning singer is expected back in Ghana in September amid suggestions that she is being lined up for a major show in Accra.
