EXECUTIVE WOMEN NETWORK EMPOWERS WOMEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

Business women executives, entrepreneurs, bloggers among many other professionals gathered for the maiden and educational edition of the Executive Women Network (EWN) Speaker Series held at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

The workshop held under the theme “Social Media for Today’s Business Woman” focused on how business women can exploit new technologies and social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to provide huge opportunities to market their enterprises, products and their brand in Ghana and beyond.

Jean Claude Domilongo, Data Business Director at Airtel Ghana and a speaker at the workshop said “The overwhelming majority of women on social media mean that their online connectivity and influence in numbers is far-reaching, exposure to brands and their content is high. Thanks to social media, more and more women are finding their voice, confidence and careers online”.

The event was also aimed at showing women how technology is creating new opportunities for business growth, taking participants through the best ways to utilize social media in an actionable strategy using storytelling, engaging content generation and social media monitoring.
Kwabena Okyire Appianing, Head of Digital Media & Innovations at Global Media Alliance-Ghana,  also a guest speaker, remarked in his presentation “Digital marketing continues to evolve and expand, making it important for business professionals especially women to understand how digital marketing can drive their businesses and their brands respectively.

Leading businesses and business professionals are getting the skills they need in digital marketing for that matter social media to effectively make decisions, set strategies and implement campaigns and measure results.

“The difference is that today’s business woman has a lot of opportunities to market and grow her enterprise or better position her brand compared to her counterparts five years ago, thanks to social media tools to enable businesses to reach hundreds or thousands of potential customers online,” said Appianing

The Executive Council of EWN advised participating women to adopt trends that will shape businesses for the coming decades, noting social media as a business tool for the future, which women must embrace.

Executive Women Network (EWN), the first of its kind in Ghana for women to grow their professional skills and build important networks to influence and drive policy changes that seeks to maximize the representation of women in senior leadership positions in Ghana.
