South African Tourism Holds Graduation Ceremony For SA Specialists In Kumasi

South African Tourism on Monday, October 28th, 2018 held a graduation ceremony for tour operators in the Ashanti Region who had successfully completed the SA Specialist programme.

Aimed at equipping tour operators and travel agencies with adequate knowledge to best sell South Africa as a tourist destination, 11 graduates were presented with branded certificates with two eventually winning a life changing opportunity to visit the South Africa on an all expense paid trip courtesy South African Tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mohammed Tanko Kwajaffa, Trade Relations Manager, West Africa, SAT explained the need to sell and experience South Africa with its History & Culture, Wildlife, Nightlife, Family Activities, Life Style, Adventure, Tourist Attraction sites and more.

He took participants through various lessons including packaging tours, application of visas etc and shared information on the most visited places in South Africa including Gauteng (Johannesburg & surroundings), Kwa Zulu Natal (Durban and surroundings) and regular activities these regions are noted for.

A representative from South Africa Airways (SAA) also spoke about recent developments and progress with the airline.

He highlighted the achievements of the airline which has been operational in Ghana for over 23 years including being Africa’s most awarded airline serving over 74 destinations in partnership with SA express and low carrier Mango and its reliable and convenient flight services that connects three (3) cities direct from Accra; Washington DC, Abidjan and Johannesburg.

The ceremony which took place at the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi saw in attendance Mr. Ahmed Namann – Regional Representative forTour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA), Sylvia Tumi – Sales Executive Manager (South Africa Airways), and several other participants.
