Photos : Xavier Saer’s Himba Photography Collection To Be Exhibited At Agog Gallery

By popular demand, commercial and celebrity photographer, Xavier Saer, is set to exhibit his “Himba, Lords of the sand" photography collection at the Agog Gallery in Maboneng from 11 November 2018. This follows the highly successful exhibition of his Himba collection at the historical Rand Club in Johannesburg this past July.

Xavier Saer’s Himba collection is a beautiful story of collaboration and uplifting each other through art. What started as a very personal experience of documenting the Himba tribe through photography, has since resulted in Xavier Saer contributing a borehole to the Himba community in the Namibian desert.

“I had the privilege of spending time with the Himba community last year and we formed a very special bond, so the positive reception of the collection has been extremely heartfelt. I’m looking forward to my upcoming exhibition at the Agog Gallery and sharing more about my experience with the community and giving back to them again,” shares Xavier Saer.

Xavier Saer conveys that his Himba collection is about showing the beauty of Africa and portraying Africans as the storytellers of their own stories. “This is about African Renaissance, strength and beauty. I hope everyone gets to see what I see through these images,” adds Xavier Saer.

Xavier Saer’s local celebrity portfolio includes the likes of Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali Maphumulo, Nomzamo Mbatha, Basetsana Kumalo, Leanne Manas, Shashi Naidoo, Ayanda Thabethe, Terry Pheto, Lira, Zonke, Kelly Khumalo, Loyiso Bala, Somizi and the late Bra Hugh Masekela and Simba Mhere amongst countless others.

Xavier Saer has also done brand campaigns for the likes of FNB, Land Rover, Sun International, Mnet, Timberland, Peermont Global, Sony Music, Growth Point Properties, South African Airways, Danish brand Obaku Watches, and The Fairlawns Boutique Hotel just to name a few.

Make sure to visit Xavier Saer’s Himba exhibition at the Agog Gallery in Maboneng on 11 November 2018 and follow him on social media for more info around his photography exhibition and to see the developments of what he is doing with the Himba community.
