Charterhouse, organizers of the annual Ghana Music Awards has announced nominees for the artiste of the decade category.
The Artiste of the Year must over the last decade, have the biggest impact, earned multiple nominations across the years in the VGMA and be relevant on the Ghanaian music industry and must have released a hit single and or album.
Artiste of the Decade is honoured every ten years. The 2009 edition was won by Kojo Antwi.
In the special category for this year’s awards, the organsisers nominated Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Efya, Becca, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, R2bees, No Tribe & Nacee and Okyeame Kwame.

Artiste of the Decade is the artiste adjudged by the Academy, Board and the General Public as the artiste(s) with the highest audience appeal and popularity over the last decade. The artiste(s) must have released a hit single/album within the last 10years.
2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is slated for May 18.
