South African Tourism on Monday, October 28th, 2018 held a graduation ceremony for tour operators in the Ashanti Region who had successfully completed the SA Specialist programme. Aimed at equipping tour operators and travel agencies with adequate knowledge to best sell South Africa as a tourist destination, 11 graduates were presented with branded certificates with two eventually winning a life changing opportunity to visit the South Africa on an all expense paid trip courtesy South African Tourism. Speaking at the ceremony, Mohammed Tanko Kwajaffa, Trade Relations Manager, West Africa, SAT explained the need to sell and experience South Africa with its History & Culture, Wildlife, Nightlife, Family Activities, Life Style, Adventure, Tourist Attraction sites and more.

Movie director Frank Rajah Arase has been adjudged best director at the 2018 edition of the prestigious African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held in Kigali. He beat a long list of other influential African directors, some of whom are Oscar nominees to win the award. They include Jade Osiberu, Michael Mathews, Safia Djama, Oluseyi Siwoku, Shemu Joyah, Darrell Roodt, Akin Omotosho, Peter Kofi Sedufia and Kenneth Gyang. Frank won with the movie, ‘In My Country’. Catherine Afeku has indicated that creating a National Film Authority will help spearhead the development of the industry and make it more vibrant to meet international standards. She however charged stakeholders in the Film Industry to conduct nationwide stakeholder engagements so as to map out modalities for the Legislative Instrument (L.I) that will ensure the institutionalization of the Development and Classification of Film Law (Act 935), 2016. She spoke in an exclusive interview after a Committee her ministry set up on May 30th, 2018 to work on having an L.I presented its report. The Committee which comprises leaders of the various film value chain groups began their work since June 7, 2018 by meeting stakeholders and industry players over the Development and Classification of Film Law (Act 935).

Nana Ama Benson, a 23-year-old graduate of University Ghana Nursing School  who represented  the  Central Region has been crowned Miss Ghana 2018. Celebrated radio and TV host, Brown Berry of YFM and Zeex Music TV respectively, has once again bagged nominations for this year’s edition of the RTP Awards. He has again been nominated for” TV Entertainment Show of the Year” and” TV Male Entertainment Show Host of the Year”. Ghana has declared 2019 as a Year of Return, inviting the global African family to a birth-right journey home to the country.
