Kofi Annan Will Be Honoured Forever – Minister For Tourism, Arts & Culture, Catherine Afeku

Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Afeku says the former UN Secretary-General, will be honoured forever.

According to her, the achievement and contribution of the late UN leader has impacted the lives of many across the world, therefore he deserves to be celebrated.

In an interview with the media at the forecourt of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), where the seventh UN Chief has been laid-in-state for the last 3 days, Mrs. Afeku described Kofi Annan as a “consummate diplomat and an honourable person who will forever remain in the lives of many not just in Ghana but in the World”.

She described the death of Kofi Annan, as a great loss to the world, adding that ‘he was an illustrious son who cared for world peace’.

“He was a true African. His behaviour meant he was a consummate diplomat. We have lost an illustrious son. He was an honourable person and it will remain history that we buried an illustrious son on the continent…”, she opined.

The three-day state funeral and burial rites for former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan begins in Accra Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre where thousands of Ghanaians and foreigners have throng to file past his body to pay their last respect.

A short military ceremony attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo and some government officials, was held at the KIA to receive the body, after which they were forwarded.

Dignitaries including recognised groups, chiefs Members of Parliament and Ministers of State have all payed their last respect to the illustrious international diplomat.

Mr. Annan who served two terms as the UN Chief died Saturday August 18, 2018 in a hospital at Bern, Switzerland, after a short illness.

FDA & Ghana Standards Authority Approve Abova Alkaline Water.

The Food and Drugs Board Authority and Ghana Standards Authority have officially agreed to the production of Abova Alkaline Water in Ghana. The license was given to Abova Water Company, producers of the premium alkaline water a few months ago.
