Ogilvy Africa Names New Regional Creative Director In Leadership Changes

Ogilvy Africa, the most awarded creative agency in Africa, has named Brett Wild as its new Regional Creative Director. He takes over from Joao Espirito Santo, who is moving back to Portugal for a new assignment.

In his new role, Brett will be expected to spearhead the Pan-African agency’s quest to deliver award-winning and effective communication work for clients in line with growing demand for strategic communications services especially by global multinational brands now present in Africa.

While announcing the appointment, Ogilvy Africa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mathieu Plassard said, “We are delighted and honoured to welcome Brett Wild to Ogilvy Africa at a time when the agency is going through a period of renewed creative growth and integrated communications delivery for Pan-African clients.”

The CEO said Ogilvy Africa had picked Brett as the new Regional Creative Director because of his global creative work experience as well as his exposure to transformative communication. “This is critical for us as we lead the market into offering more integrated communication campaigns to our clients,” added Mr. Plassard.

Brett has over 30 years’ experience in the advertising industry and is described as having the right mix of insight, humour and gumption that is only found in true leaders of the industry. 

Brett has previously worked at Ogilvy & Mather in Johannesburg as an Art and Creative Director. He has also worked at Hunt Lascaris, Saatchi & Saatchi South Africa, Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, Hammersmith & Elephant Productions, and Avatar (Digital Agency).

At Saatchi & Saatchi South Africa, he won numerous accolades and awards including extensive Loeries and Cannes Golds, and at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, he mentored agencies in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, and took the Singapore office to the top three in the network.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth.
