12 BANDS TO PERFORM IN THE SPAIN-GHANA VIS A VIS LIVE TV REALITY SHOW

Twelve Ghanaian bands have been selected among 65 bands to perform a large crowd of music enthusiasts at the ACCRA TOURIST INFORMATION on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th March ,2019 as part of a TV reality show dubbed ‘Spain-Ghana Vis a Vis’.

The 12 selected band for this cultural project includes Della Hayes and her Women of Colour, Elom, Fokn Bois, FRA, Gyatabuom and the Lions, Kakatsitsi, King Ayisoba, Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife, Lamisi, Soulstreet band, Weku Kronkron Band and Yibor Afric Band.

In a statement from the Spanish capital, Madrid, the Spanish promoters, highlighted the incredible quality of the bands presented. “We expect that the experience in Accra will give us insight of the music industry in Ghana. allow us to know deeply how the music industry is on in Ghana.”

The statement added that “All the directors have listened to all the 65 bands that registered into the Ghana Vis a Vis website and have taken their decision according to what they think would better fit into their festival line-ups”.

The selected teams are to perform in front of judges made up of Spanish Music Festival directors and their Ghanaian counterparts on the night. Out of the competition, the two eventual winners will have an opportunity to tour some of Spain’s most important summer festivals next July.

The Vis a Vis is a cultural project organized by Spain’s public diplomacy institution Casa África, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the collaboration of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), the Spanish Embassy in Accra and the Ghanaian Embassy in Madrid.

This year’s Ghana Vis a Vis’ marks the 10th edition of the cultural cooperation project that aims to generate a better knowledge of African music in Spain and has already been held in other 9 African countries. So far, Vis a Vis has visited Senegal (on two occasions), Ethiopia, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania and Angola.

In each country, Spanish cultural promoters had the opportunity not only to listen the live performances of twelve selected artists, but also to maintain professional meetings with them.

With this cultural cooperation project, Casa África aims to contribute not only to a greater presence of African artists in the Spanish scenarios, but also to the development of the cultural industries of African countries.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice
