JACCD Professional Development Center Trains 200 Apprentices

The Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design (JACCD) through its Professional Development Center (PDC) in Kumasi and Accra, have trained over 200 apprentices for the past two years - in partnership with COTVET and the German Cooperation.

This was disclosed when a delegation from the German Cooperation and COTVET paid a visit to the JACCD campus in Cantonments.

Joyce Ababio, President of JACCD, agreed to keep supporting COTVET and the German Cooperation in the TVET Program as it aligned with her vision of fostering an enabling environment for all Ghanaians to learn the international standards in Fashion Design.

Speaking to the delegation, she said, “These apprentices are excited about now being able to train in four to six months. I am thrilled to see how this transformation can change the approach to apprenticeship, and even end up as a formal process for anyone interested in being an apprentice”.

The delegation from the German Cooperation and COTVET were taken on a tour of the Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design (JACCD) where they had a first-hand experience of how students are taught. They also engaged with apprentices on the TVET Program who expressed their joy in having had the opportunity to study.
