EMPIRE RETURNS TO FOX IN GRIPPING FIFTH SEASON

Television’s fiercest hip-hop family, the Lyons, return to FOX, DStv Channel 125 for the remainder of Season Five of Empire on 7 March 2019, at 5:55pm.

Golden Globe nominated Empire continues to be one of the most popular and acclaimed shows on television. A powerful drama about a family dynasty set within the glamorous and sometimes dangerous world of hip-hop music, the show revolves around the Lyons and their media company, Empire Entertainment.

At the end of Season Four, the Lyons lost Empire. However, Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Golden Globe® winner Taraji P. Henson) finally found their way to each other and said their “I do’s.” In Season Five, two years have passed, and the Lyons have yet to reclaim Empire.

The family has experienced unimagined tragedies and now must join forces to rebuild from scratch. As their plans begin to take shape, they will be forced to learn – once again – that fame and fortune come with a hefty price tag.

It has been almost two months since lead actress Taraji P. Henson visited South African shores in a week-long tour that included a press conference, fan engagements, visits to Constitution Hill, the Apartheid Museum, non-profit organisation ‘Keep a Child Alive’ and a ‘Women in Media’ event.

Her visit is showcased in a half-hour special that will broadcast the same evening as Empire returns, at 5:30pm.  Fox Networks Group Africa, Director of Marketing and On-Air.

“We can’t wait to share the highlights of her visit with viewers, and to see more of her as Cookie in the remaining eight episodes of this season” she continued.

No 'Shower Hour' On Big Brother Naija - Says MultiChoice

As preparations are in top gear for the second edition of social reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, organisers have revealed that there will be no broadcast of nude footage called ‘Shower Hour’, when the show returns on January 22, 2017. This comes to some fans as ‘decent’, following the controversies generated by that segment of the show, during the now rested continental edition, Big Brother Africa (BBA). MultiChoice is bringing back the Nigerian version of the series after 10 years. It had announced after the last edition of BBA that each African country will stage the show henceforth. Renamed Big Brother Naija, the show will have 12 housemates who will compete for the prize of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car. Sponsored by PayPorte, the program will run for 78 days, starting 22 January 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised launch and end on 9 April 2017 with a two-hour, live, televised finale.
