Chocolate City Music Appoints Abuchi Peter Ugwu New CEO

West Africa's premier music label, Chocolate City Music, is pleased to announce the appointment of Abuchi Peter Ugwu as its new CEO. Chocolate City Music is one of the continent's longest standing and most successful labels, and this is another exciting step forward in the company's celebrated and widely-acclaimed journey.

Abuchi Peter Ugwu steps into this role after more than a decade of working in various capacities in the music industry. From 2008, he worked as a producer and sound engineer on a number of Chocolate City projects (Oleku”, “Nobody Test Me” and “Africa Rapper number 1” etc) and then ventured into artist management in 2012. He became Head of Business Development for the company in 2015. In 2019, he was appointed Vice President for Bean Creative Agency, a Talent and Digital marketing agency based out of Lagos, Nigeria.

2016 Ghana Movie Awards Entry Closes October 20

The 2016 Ghana Movie Awards (MAG) has announced that entry for submission of works will close on October  20. This follows MAG's new strategy to open entry all year round immediately after hosting the awards in December. The Ghana Movie Awards is an event to recognize excellence by annually honoring achievements of actors, writers, directors, producers, technicians and other professionals in the film making industry of Ghana and the rest of Africa. It is organized by Gollywood Production Limited with support from major stakeholders of the film industry, to provide opportunities for filmmakers to have spotlight on their films. It also aims to promote and support Ghanaian filmmaking.
