2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Nominations To Be Unveiled On April 3

On 19th January 2021, a call was made to all Artiste, Music Producers, Beat Makers, Instrumentalists and Stakeholders to submit their works which fall within the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) calendar year - January 1st to December 31st 2020.

The VGMA board and the research team, have been at work, rigorously sifting through, meticulously reviewing and carefully analyzing over 1000 submissions; a verdict has been reached and a list is ready for unveiling.

Approximately 6 weeks after entry submissions closed, the biggest event on the Ghanaian Music and entertainment space is set to make the BIG ANNOUCEMENT. On Saturday the 3rd of April, the unveil of Nominees will happen in 2 parts. From 11am to 4pm, 3 categories will be announced every hour, on the hour.

This will be followed by a Nominees Announcement ceremony at 8pm, where the final set of nominees will be unveiled, the event calendar for the year will be the shared, and what's new to the scheme will be announced. The ceremony will be interlaced with sizzling performances from your favorite artistes.

Telenovela Channel Eva+ Launches On GOtv And DStv In November

Eva+ will begin airing on Tuesday, 1st of November on GOtv Plus on channel 113 as well as all DStv packages on channels 142. Similarly to Eva, Eva+ will offer high production value Latin American telenovelas fully dubbed in English and Portuguese languages, and will be the first channel in AMC Networks International UK’s (AMCNI UK) regional portfolio to be available on MultiChoice’s DTT platform. Somi Named Spotify’s EQUAL Africa Artist For August

Acclaimed singer, songwriter, and playwright Somi has been announced as Spotify’s EQUAL Africa artist for the month of August. Celebrated globally for her narrative richness and genre-defying sound, Somi has built an extraordinary career bridging African rhythms with contemporary American jazz. The announcement coincides with the release of her highly anticipated new album, What Does It Take to Bloom?, dropping on August 7, on Salon Africana. The 13-track project, led by the poignant single We’re All Falling, is an intimate meditation on self-discovery, identity, and finding belonging amid life's dissonance. Co-produced by Somi alongside Benjamin James (of Nigerian Highlife duo The Cavemen.), the album features guest appearances from The Cavemen. and acclaimed jazz saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin.
