Vodafone, the headline sponsor for the annual Ghana Music Awards has
broken silence over the brouhaha that happened at this year’s event.
The company in a press statement forwarded to Cypress Ghana condemned the scuffle which occurred between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy after the latter was announced winner of the Reggae and dancehall artiste of the year at the event which happened on May 18
The statement read:
Incident at VGMA 2O19: Vodafone remains committed to the music industry
We refer to the unfortunate incident that occurred during this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) on May 19, 2019.
We wish to state as follows:
The scuffle on stage during the VGMA is regrettable. However, we acknowledge that a large number of players in the industry do not subscribe to such conduct.
Vodafone, as a responsible organization, is against all acts of violence and such conduct, no matter the circumstances.
