Vodafone Fete Children 11 Orphanages In 'Bronya aye de' Campaign

Telecom giant, Vodafone Ghana, appears poised to ensure Ghanaians from all walks of life enjoy a fantastic yuletide season this year.

The company, in a move to ensure that the underprivileged in society get a feel of the Christmas and New Year festivities, has embarked on a drive to fete children in some orphanages in the country.

The company on Friday put smiles on the faces of children at the Teshie Orphanage as it presented provisions, gifts and a cash amount of GHS 2,000 to managers of the facility.

The move forms part of a campaign dubbed, 'Bronya aye de'.

The 'Bronya aye de' campaign by Vodafone Ghana will see 11 selected orphanages, one of which is the Teshie Orphanage, benefit in cash and kind ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

Speaking at a ceremony to present the items to the orphanage, Head of Corporate Affairs at Vodafone Ghana, Ebenezer Amankwah, said the company remains committed to its corporate social responsibilities in order to put smiles on the faces of several Ghanaians.

He said the focus of Vodafone Ghana is to, beyond profit making, show its loyalty to the people who patronize their products.

"As a company we believe this is really what we should be about, beyond profits, revenue and performance. Fundamentally, the true test of what a company stands for is its commitment to the communities in which its workers live and work," he said.

He added, "Christmas is a time of giving and sharing and we don't want to hold it onto our chest alone...we're here to share with the people of Teshie in this orphanage as we prepare to celebrate the Christmas festivities."

"This is part of a campaign that we have titled 'Bronya aye de'. This year we are going to 11 orphanages across the country to donate things to them so that they can feel a part of the Vodafone brand."
