MTN HITMAKER HAS BEEN THE SPRINGBOARD OF MY CAREER – KIDI

The ladies scream his name when he is on stage. They call him the ‘girls dem sugar’ and he is currently one of the hottest male vocalists in the country.

With hit songs like ‘Say you love me’, ‘Odo’, ‘Adiepena’ and others, very few would say they haven’t heard the name Kidi before. Crossing borders into neighboring Nigeria, the lad recently had Naija’s top cat, Davido jump on the remix of his award winning track, “Odo”.

Dennis Nana Dwamena, known by performing name KiDi has revealed recently that he owes his success and rise to the music reality show, MTN Hitmaker.

“…it’s strange eh….i was just that guy who used to hangout in Riche’s studio watching other artistes come in and record their songs and then one day Richie just thought I should give this Hitmaker thing a shot’.
The young talented vocalist mentioned how his fear for large crowds held him back until Richie’s push got him to audition.

Ahead of that final decision however, the thought of making an impact on the show and even winning, but unable to do anything meaningful with that feat also held him back.

‘But you see, there was something about MTN Hitmaker that looked real’ he said with a smirk on his cheeks.
According to him, what attracted him to MTN Hitmaker beyond the push precisely was the fact that it had ‘real’ sound engineers who were working with mainstream artistes and producing major hit songs, ‘the best part was that each set of contestants were assigned one of these sound engineers’ he stated.

“The stage craft, voice control and confidence I have on stage is all thanks to the grooming I received during the show” Kidi said with a lot of joy.

From the boy who sat and watched while others recorded to the current Ghana Music Awards 2017/2018 highlife song of the year winner for his hit song, ‘Odo’, life can only get better, and it all started after he decided to take a leap of faith and be a part of the music reality TV show, MTN Hitmaker.

That’s Kidi’s story. What’s yours and what will it be after you join the next edition of MTN Hitmaker?
