Night Of 1029 Laughs & Music Presents ‘So You Think You’re Funny’

Laughter, they say is the food for the soul, and for the past 28 editions, Charterhouse has given patrons a reason to destress and end the year with "thousand laughs" festivals.

Night of 1000 Laughs & Music Comedy Festival has created a comedy movement and we are still waxing strong. It has no doubt been a long journey, opening opportunities for comedians who would have otherwise found it difficult to breakthrough in the industry.

On this year’s edition, dubbed ‘Night of 1029 Laughs & Music’ slated for 26th December at Grand Arena (AICC); Christmas comes a month early for upcoming comedians as Charterhouse offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a brilliant amateur mount the biggest comedy stage in Ghana.

So, you think you’re funny? Isa sense of humor one of your core strengths?

There’s just one problem: Other people must also think you’re funny.

This is indeed a hurdle, because humor is a two-sided exchange. It’s a feedback loop between you (the joke teller) and your listener (the audience). Humor doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

It’s not enough to only consider how you see yourself. You must also consider how the world sees you.

If you have ever dreamt of stand-up comedy and playing in the big leagues, here is your ticket. Simply upload your standup comedy video and Tag @charterhousegh on Instagram and Facebook and use the hashtags, #1029laughs and #southinkurfunny.

And stand the chance of earning a spot and share a stage with some of the biggest names in comedy across the continent on the biggest comedy stage in Ghana. Most comedians have had their breakthroughs on this stage, this can be your opportunity, take it!! Deadline for submission is 26th November.

Over the years, the series has set the stage for and hosted the biggest names in comedy across the continent including Basket Mouth, Okey Bakassi, Fritz Baffour, Bovi, Funny Face, Akpororo, Klint De Drunk, OB Amponsah, Jacinta, Lekxy DeComic, Godons amongst a host of others.

Night of 1029 Laughs & Music is a charterhouse initiative.
