Media and Marketing Professional, Edward Boafo Owusu, has been selected by the AfriMusic Song Contest as a national judge for the 2020 edition. Owusu, who is also a Certified Festival Manager and Culture Enthusiast, is expected to bring his years of expertise to the very popular global event.
The AfriMusic Song Contest is for all established and unknown artists from across the African continent. The competition is for songwriters and artists, offering them a platform to grow their career in music. The contest was launched on digital platforms in 2017 and for the past 2 years, it has uncovered amazing talent.
Symphony from the Kingdom of eSwatini was the competition’s first winner, getting the opportunity to perform her winning song at the Eurovision Song Contest village in Lisbon Portugal in 2018, which was broadcast to millions of people. In 2019 South African born Nonzwakazi took the title of the second winner of the contest and was flown to Tel Aviv where she performed at the Eurovision Song Contest Village for a crowd of 105,000 people.
In 2020, AfriMusic will have one of its biggest years yet. The competition has so far received an overwhelming amount of entries, discovering amazing talent in all 24 participating countries.
